About The Position

The Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities Directorate consists of Guidance, Navigation, and Control; Signal Processing; and Modeling and Simulation disciplines for Effectors. The PG&C Center is hiring a Sr. Systems Engineer - Modeling and Simulation Deputy Lead to provide simulated environments for testing of missile effectors through 6DOF modeling, scene modeling, and hardware modeling while testing software in simulation capabilities. As the Sr. Systems Engineer - Modeling and Simulation Deputy Lead you will serve as a deputy to the current Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Simulation lead, assisting on the execution of related contracts to a Naval Power program. This position is an onsite role based in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience on a missile program
  • Experience designing, developing, and validating Simulations to Government standards
  • Experience with object oriented languages and other languages such as C, C++, and Python in a Linux environment
  • Experience with design and analysis for 6DOF simulations
  • Experience leading others in technical and/or functional capacities within an engineering environment working on modeling and simulation
  • Experience with Design of Experiments and High Processor Computing resources
  • Current and active U.S. government issued Secret Security Clearance is required with the ability to obtain special program access after start

Nice To Haves

  • An Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics
  • Experience using MATLAB and/or Python for evaluation and analysis of data sets
  • Experience using HPC Management tools such as SLURM

Responsibilities

  • Act as a recognized Modeling, Simulation and Analysis subject matter expert assisting with the budget, schedule, development, execution, and completion of complex program objectives.
  • Oversee contracts related to a primary program ensuring no impact to the primary contracted program.
  • Develop and use credible simulation models to estimate system and sub-system level performance for a myriad of systems and provide pre and post flight test predictions.
  • Participate in production, engineering, and field-test environments to test, verify, and validate requirements for system performance requirements.
  • Collaborate in all development phases from proposals to live-fire testing, making improvements to processes and providing signal processing expertise for BOEs, design reviews, peer reviews, and technical briefings to internal and external customers.
  • Lead, or be able to assist in leading, a technical team, mentor engineers, and/or manage an engineering project.
