About The Position

This Sr. Systems Engineer I (Sr. Desktop/Client Server Lead) is responsible for overseeing daily IT and personnel operations within System Operations ensuring systems are in compliance. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring team performance as well as report weekly and monthly metrics to DS CTO PMO. They will monitor project progress, timelines, and ensure timely completion of all project activities. The candidate will provide administrative and IT support as required to support State Department conferences at various locations. The candidate is responsible for monitoring and patching VMWare servers as well as overseeing out of scope Windows desktop patching requirements. The candidate is responsible for providing analysis and assessments regarding out-of-scope desktop vulnerabilities including CVSS Metrics. Requirements

  • An active Top-Secret security clearance and the ability to commute to work at our customer site in Arlington, VA.
  • Experience leading System Operations and Client Server Teams - providing daily direction to IT personnel monitoring team performance and reporting on project delivery.
  • 5 years experience provisioning, installing, and supporting Microsoft Desktop and Windows Server and VMware environments.
  • 5 years experience supporting Microsoft Active Directory domains, VDI, VMware vSphere, and VMware Horizon.
  • 5 years experience patching VMWare servers as well as overseeing patching of out-of-scope Windows desktops.
  • 5 years experience providing analysis and assessments regarding out-of-scope desktop vulnerabilities including CVSS Metrics.
  • An understanding of working in a secure federal environment and a strong willingness to learn new technology and grow your expertise.
  • Technical Certifications: AZ-900 or higher, VCP, ITIL v5, Security+ or CC or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily oversite of system operations teams to meet priority and high demand end user needs.
  • Evaluate, maintain, and improve system operations platform to ensure operations performance and compliance.
  • Respond to end users needs and system outages to ensure mission support applications and systems are available.
  • Work with server and virtualization infrastructure and technologies.
  • Interface with customers to resolve system related issues while providing world class IT and customer service.
