About The Position

This role may be filled at a Principal or Senior level. The Systems Engineer III will have a strong understanding of requirements development, test case development, and verification and validation of those requirements. The ideal candidate will be proficient with requirements technical baseline management via IBM Rational DOORS, and act as a technical lead and point of contact to the Chief Engineer and customer.

Requirements

• Bachelor's of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5+ years of engineering experience OR Master's Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 3+ years of engineering experience OR PhD degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 1+ years of engineering experience (for Principal level)
• Bachelor's of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 8+ years of engineering experience OR Master's Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 6+ years of engineering experience OR PhD degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 4+ years of engineering experience (for Senior Principal level)
• Experience with IBM Rational DOORS
• Demonstrated success with: Technical baseline management
• Demonstrated success with: Writing and updating DOORS requirements
• Demonstrated success with: Decomposing and deriving requirements based on customer specifications
• Experience in System Engineering activities such as: Software requirements development
• Experience in System Engineering activities such as: Requirements development
• Experience in System Engineering activities such as: Test Case Development
• Experience in System Engineering activities such as: Verification and Validation, i.e. experience running tests and documenting results
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated experience presenting to internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience communicating technical information, e.g. requirements updates, test plans, integration test plans, etc.
• Demonstrated experience supporting test investigations and debugging efforts
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Active DoD Secret clearance required at the time of application
• Ability to work onsite full-time at Woodland Hills, CA

Responsibilities

• Work with a broad customer base to identify unique requirements, flow the requirements into design documentation, and work with a diverse team to build and test those requirements.
• Present to customers on the capabilities of current products, performance analyses, design information, and requirements verification methods.
• Generate, review, and manage multiple requirements sets that cover all aspects of both performance and nonperformance including mechanical interfaces, electrical interfaces, data requirements, environmental requirements, and reliability.
• Awareness and responsiveness to contract milestones and deliverables.
• Lead an Agile team to ensure the designs are sufficient to meet the system requirements.
• Work with various Agile teams to ensure all requirements are verified through inspection, analysis, demonstration, or test often by providing test and data reduction scripts.
• Provide test directions to ensure production tests and troubleshooting tests are executed correctly and resulting data conforms to requirements.
