About The Position

We are seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator on behalf of our client in Annapolis Junction, Maryland . This position requires a highly skilled professional to manage, maintain, and secure mission-critical systems in accordance with program and SSP requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting large-scale, high-security programs , with expertise in Linux environments and sensitive technical execution. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, the ability to respond to security vulnerabilities, and experience managing complex systems for programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Requirements

  • Fifteen (15) years of experience as a Systems Administrator supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Substitution: Five (5) years of additional Systems Administration experience may be substituted in place of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Extremely proficient in Linux system administration.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with STE systems .
  • Experience coordinating with SSP requirements and responding to CVEs .
  • Ability to manage secure systems in a highly classified environment .
  • Must hold a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph .

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems at an advanced level.
  • Implement, manage, and maintain all aspects of STE (Secure Terminal Equipment) systems.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with SSP requirements , including vulnerability tracking and mitigation.
  • Respond to Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) and implement security patches and mitigations in a timely manner.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation for systems, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Collaborate with program and engineering teams to ensure system compliance and mission readiness.
