About The Position

The Sr. Supply and Demand Planner is responsible for leading demand plans, inventory projections, and target service levels to develop strategic supply plans for assigned product categories. This role combines statistical forecasting with cross-functional collaboration to drive consensus-based plans that optimize inventory, support service levels, and align financial and operational objectives. The role owns the planning process for assigned categories, including oversight of Excess & Obsolescence (E&O), forecast accuracy, and inventory health, while supporting the S&OP process and continuously improving planning methodologies and processes. The Sr. Supply and Demand Planner operates in a fast-paced, evolving environment requiring the ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and influence stakeholders across multiple functions and leadership levels. This role partners closely with sales, merchandising, finance, purchasing, and supply chain teams to drive alignment and improve planning effectiveness across the organization.

Requirements

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance service, inventory, operational, and financial tradeoffs
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP and demand planning systems; Anaplan experience preferred
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage complexity, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify process gaps and implement scalable solutions
  • Aptitude to quickly learn technical applications, systems, and business processes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Science, or a related quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience in supply planning, demand planning, inventory planning, or related planning functions supporting multiple product categories and distribution channels
  • Demonstrated experience participating in and contributing to S&OP, Demand Review, and Supply Review processes
  • Proven ability to independently own complex forecasts, manage competing priorities, and influence business decisions in a dynamic environment
  • Experience working with remote supervision and geographically distributed teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, improve planning processes, and drive operational effectiveness in a growing business environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead supply and demand planning activities across assigned product categories with accountability for forecast quality, inventory health, and business alignment
  • Develop and maintain statistical forecasts and inventory projections, incorporating scenario planning, business trends, and risk assessments to support strategic decision-making
  • Create and manage supply plans and purchase order recommendations for both future and immediate business needs across apparel and hard goods categories
  • Collaborate with sales, merchandising, marketing, finance, purchasing, and supply chain teams to incorporate business insights into demand and stocking strategies
  • Facilitate demand review, club review, and cross-functional planning meetings to drive consensus and align plans with operational and financial objectives
  • Perform gap, variance, and root cause analysis against financial targets, demand plans, and supply constraints; develop recommendations to resolve discrepancies
  • Evaluate forecast signals, assumptions, and planning outputs to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with business objectives
  • Own and oversee the Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) process to maintain an optimal balance of inventory investment and product availability
  • Develop, document, standardize, and continuously improve forecasting methodologies, planning assumptions, inventory strategies, and planning processes
  • Lead or contribute to strategic supply chain and planning initiatives that improve planning maturity, tools, systems, and operational effectiveness
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels to drive alignment, accountability, and decision-making
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for demand planning by mentoring planners, reviewing forecasts, and elevating team planning capabilities
  • Independently manage multiple priorities, projects, and timelines in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
