About The Position

The Supplier Quality Engineer drives the manufacturing site supply base toward operational excellence. The role ensures compliance with raw material designs, implements supplier audits, manages corrective actions, and oversees PPAP (First Part Approvals). It works closely with Procurement to support robust development of the supplier network. The position requires availability for all shifts and includes supervising Engineering Technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven skills in managing quality associates.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with refrigeration components such as motors, compressors, and pumps.
• Mastery of APQP and PPAP processes.
• Proficiency in WCM tools, particularly 8D Problem Solving and Kaizen.
• Ability to read complex blueprints and apply GD&T.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and statistical analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure components meet design specifications through the PPAP approval process, and determine component approval or rejection based on its impact on production.
• Provide rapid-response diagnostics for assembly-line issues.
• Manage 8D reports and the Controlled Shipping process to ensure effective containment.
• Create and execute supplier audit processes based on supplier performance and component criticality.
• Manage the RMA procedure and ensure SOX compliance for quarantined or rejected materials.
• Identify quality improvement opportunities and lead problem-solving through Kaizen initiatives.
• Supervise Engineering Technicians and direct corrective actions and rework implementation.
