About The Position

As the Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of materials and products from suppliers by developing, implementing, and auditing quality standards and processes. This role provides technical guidance to suppliers, coordinates qualification testing, and drives root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues. The engineer also prepares technical documentation, maintains quality assurance programs, and supports supplier development to meet engineering and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in in Engineering, Business, or related field + 4 years of experience in quality, industrial or manufacturing engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field + 2 years of experience in quality, industrial or manufacturing engineering.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • JD/PhD in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • In lieu of degree, 5 years of experience in quality, industrial or manufacturing engineering.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship.
  • Unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent, and/or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified, with demonstrated leadership in global supplier quality initiatives.
  • Lead Auditor certification (e.g., ISO-9001 or similar).
  • Strong proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and use of related gauges.
  • Experience translating engineering drawings and specifications into quality planning and PPAP.
  • Ability to travel to supplier and customer sites up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier quality strategy for materials and products, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements across the supply base.
  • Develop, implement, and audit advanced supplier quality systems, inspection methods, and process controls (including ISO-9001 and statistical process control), and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to suppliers, lead qualification testing and part certification, and drive new source development and supplier onboarding.
  • Analyze and escalate critical failure trends, lead complex root cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and communicate high-impact issues to senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of technical quality documentation, maintain robust quality assurance programs, and mentor and develop less experienced staff to build organizational competence.
