As a Supplier Quality Engineer specializing in mechanical commodities, the role involves ensuring external suppliers meet Neros' quality, speed, and scale requirements for complex mechanical hardware. This position requires close collaboration with design engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and suppliers to establish capable manufacturing processes, prevent quality issues, and resolve supplier problems that could impact production. The engineer will be responsible for supplier quality and manufacturing readiness for various mechanical components, including CNC machined parts, composite structures, injection molded parts, additive manufactured parts, sheet metal, castings, coatings, finishes, and mechanical assemblies. Key activities include reviewing technical documentation, partnering with engineering and suppliers during New Product Introduction (NPI) to identify risks, leading supplier qualification and readiness activities, and driving corrective actions for quality issues. The role also involves working with sourcing and manufacturing to develop a robust supplier base capable of high-volume production and reliability.
