About The Position

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks a Rigging Superintendent for its Columbia, South Carolina region. Southern Industrial performs installation, rigging, millwrighting, and maintenance for manufacturing and industrial markets across the Southeast. The company has served the region since 1962 and is part of EMCOR Group. The Rigging Superintendent oversees General Foremen and assigned craft workers, plans and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedules, and coordinates equipment and material movement. The role requires interpreting specifications, blueprints, and job orders; maintaining time records; communicating and enforcing company policies and safety regulations; and completing frequent safety inspections. Appropriate journeyman experience and regular attendance are required. Significant travel may be required, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Rigger journeyman-level experience, with a minimum of 5+ years of experience.
At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
Regular attendance is required.

Responsibilities

Manage activities of General Foremen and assigned craft workers.
Establish and adjust work sequences to meet the construction schedule, considering equipment and personnel capacity.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed for the area of supervision.
Maintain time records.
Interpret company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations.
Study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for job completion.
Analyze and resolve work problems.
Coordinate equipment and material movement according to visual signals and directions.
Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
Conduct frequent safety inspections of work areas, equipment, tools, and employees to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC’s safety program.
Perform other duties as required.
