About The Position

The Sr. Staff Software Engineer leads and contributes to software systems from initial design through development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. The role requires deep technical knowledge of the company’s applications, services, systems, or frameworks and is a strategic contributor to product features, production support, and on-call incident response. This engineer delivers scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant applications, primarily using Java and Kotlin, and builds data pipelines that transform incoming data into Kafka streams and KeyLife Indicators (KLIs). The role shapes architecture and product direction, leads technical discussions and reviews, optimizes system performance, integrates with MANTL APIs, and builds or extends Vue.js frontend features when needed. It also includes maintaining environment configurations and system health, using observability tools, improving automation and service operability, and modernizing legacy applications. As a technical team lead, the engineer mentors developers, supports sprint and project planning, delegates work, establishes engineering standards, and works across teams with designers, product owners, customers, and other stakeholders. The role also drives AI-assisted engineering strategies, improves developer workflows, and advances prompt and context engineering practices. The position is remote-first and can be performed remotely in the United States. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.; employment sponsorship is not available.
