About The Position

Bloom Energy is seeking a Staff Process Engineer to support fuel cell manufacturing. The role provides process engineering support across multiple functional areas, addresses production issues, analyzes equipment and product data, and drives improvements to operational metrics, functional performance, and manufacturing tools. The engineer develops and sustains processes and documentation, establishes actions to prevent recurring failures, trains production team members, and works with Quality, Product Development, and Manufacturing to improve efficiency.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials), Physics, or Chemistry.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including providing passdowns and reports to coworkers.
• Experience with databases, SPC, DOE, and statistical analysis of manufacturing data.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems to root cause.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environments, with hands-on engineering work in semiconductor, hard disk, solar, or related industries.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to understand how hardware and process interact to affect the final product.
• Demonstrated track record of solving manufacturing yield problems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct process engineering support across multiple functional areas for fuel cell manufacturing.
• Address production issues in real time; collect and analyze equipment and product data and determine disposition accordingly.
• Collect and analyze operational metrics and functional performance data, and drive tool matching and improvements.
• Define preventive and corrective actions to eliminate the root causes of failures.
• Develop and sustain processes, operating procedures, and related documentation.
• Train production team members on procedures and reaction plans.
• Collaborate with Quality, Product Development, and Manufacturing teams to develop procedures and deliver manufacturing efficiency improvements.
