Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Staff Nuclear Hardness Survivability (NH&S) Engineer to join the Sentinel Systems Engineering Ground Systems team located in Roy, UT. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. The successful candidate will join the Nuclear Hardness & Survivability (NH&S) team in Roy, UT to Provide SME level technical oversight to the NH&S team in the area Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) effects, hardening, EMP Test, etc. This position would be the team’s primary technical lead for all EMP related activities, as well as supporting with system requirements thread work. This position will provide both technical direction and of Missile (AVE HEMP qualification) and ground system qualification (MIL-STD-188-125) and design trade studies (LS HEMP trade study)– providing technical leadership to a team of 3-5 engineers and mentorship to a team of 30 engineers. The candidate will contribute to the successful development of the world’s most advanced weapon system in one or more of the following ways: Defining NH&S environments and requirements, Coordinate some of the largest scale EMP tests ever performed, Effects of electromagnetic pulses on electronics, NHS qualification testing and analysis of semiconductors, NHS qualification testing and analysis of the Sentinel systems, subsystems and equipment, NHS qualification requirement and EMP Survivability thread support.
