This role is for a Sr. Staff Mechanical Engineer to join their team.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • High level of accountability – proactive and persistent with the skills and disposition to take a project from beginning to end.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter and desire to learn new things.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit is essential.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively with multiple project and priorities.
  • Professional & collaborative – comfortable working closely with a team.
  • Excellent SolidWorks CAD knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and drafting of mechanical components and sub-assemblies.
  • Ability to use engineering analysis tools (FEA, Thermo, CFD, etc.) for design validation.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in manufacturing, construction, and/or facility maintenance as it related to mechanical assemblies is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Design & develop mechanical system solutions based on engineering principles.
  • Utilize project management skills to track projects through all phases of design to production.
  • Support design decisions with analysis and calculations, as required.
  • Develop DFMEA and PFMEA’s for products and solutions to minimize project risks.
  • Participate in peer-to-peer design reviews and provide critical feedback to colleagues.
  • Create and manage SolidWorks CAD models, drawings, and assemblies.
  • Manage top level assemblies in a PDM system environment.
  • Control drawing and model releases through the change control process.
  • Communicate with suppliers on a technical basis to ensure a quality product.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing operations to develop and implement DFM and cost reduction design actions.
  • Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
  • Ensure resulting design drawings/documents meet all Building, Construction and Mechanical code requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring the design conforms to specifications required for the implementation of Bloom Energy fuel cell systems.
