As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will take the lead in designing and developing all UI-related features for our AI Agent Studio. Leveraging cutting-edge and high-performing technologies, you will drive quality in design, development, and documentation while fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth among the development team. Who you’ll report to: This role reports to our Director, Engineering Location: Hybrid role with regular onsite workdays in our San Jose, CA office strongly preferred. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, AI, or a related field a plus
10+ years of front-end/UI development experience, with a strong portfolio of modern web applications
Expertise in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and React, with a deep understanding of modern front-end frameworks and best practices
Strong understanding of web architecture and performance, including client-server interactions (HTTP), browser internals, and building high-performance, scalable applications
Experience building responsive, cross-browser, and accessibility-compliant (WCAG) applications across modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox)
Proficiency with modern development tools and workflows, including build tools (e.g., Webpack), testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress), and CI/CD pipelines
Experience designing scalable front-end architectures, including component libraries, design systems, and state management strategies
Strong product and engineering judgment, with the ability to balance performance, maintainability, and developer experience
Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor) to enhance productivity and code quality
Collaboration and Teamwork - The role requires close interaction with Product Management, UX, Backend Engineers, SDET, and Support teams. Strong collaboration skills are essential for aligning efforts across teams and ensuring seamless execution
Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking - Developing scalable, high-performance UI components and optimizing user experiences demand a sharp analytical mindset to address technical challenges and craft innovative solutions
Communication Skills - The ability to articulate technical concepts effectively and translate requirements into actionable solutions is critical for collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Adaptability and Continuous Learning - The role involves adopting new tools, frameworks, and methodologies, as well as mentoring others. A growth mindset and willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and practices are vital
Attention to Detail - Ensuring compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), maintaining consistent code quality, and delivering polished user experiences require meticulous attention to detail

Responsibilities

Design and Development: Developing and maintaining high-quality, scalable, and performance-oriented UI components and features using modern front-end technologies like React. Focusing on consistent delivery of software and systems that move the company towards achieving short and long-term objectives
Collaboration: Working closely with Product Management, UX, Backend Engineers, SDET and Support organizations to deliver industry-leading features to the market. Translate requirements into technical solutions and seamless user experiences
Code Quality: Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices in UI development. Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and consistency
Innovation: Driving the adoption of new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance development efficiency and UI performance
Scalability and Performance: Optimizing UI components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
Accessibility and Standards: Ensuring the UI complies with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and adheres to company design guidelines
Mentorship: Providing technical mentorship to junior engineers and share knowledge across teams to foster a culture of learning and improvement
