The APD Digital Engineering Ecosystem (DEE) team is leading the digital transformation of a new military CAT1 propulsion program. This systems engineering role coordinates the definition, management, and delivery of the digital engine as the authoritative product definition throughout its lifecycle, from design and vehicle integration through testing, qualification, and depot-level sustainment. The derivative engine combines legacy and new hardware, requiring a hybrid product definition that includes traditional 2D drawings, 3D models, and Model-Based Definition (MBD) for new components. The role ensures that this product definition ecosystem serves as a single source of truth and enables collaboration across design, manufacturing, test, and sustainment while meeting DoD configuration management and data delivery requirements. Focused on Model-Based Assembly, the position develops the digital strategy in partnership with the Engine Model Owner and Product Definition teams, leads integration of the digital engine into the DEE, and coordinates delivery of a Technical Data Package (TDP) in accordance with MIL-STD-31000. The role also advances digital qualification and digital twin development in collaboration with airframe partners, systems teams, and test organizations. The successful candidate brings systems engineering expertise, knowledge of product definition and configuration management, and experience with complex aerospace programs. They must navigate technical and contractual requirements, communicate with DoD customers and internal stakeholders, and align cross-functional teams. Experience with MBSE, digital tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Cameo, and MES software such as Solumina is valued. The role requires balancing military standards compliance with digital engineering innovation.
