About The Position

Illumina is expanding access to genomic technology to realize health equity for billions of people worldwide. This role is responsible for negotiating, structuring, and/or administrating contractual documents that establish business relationships with vendors, customers, and/or partners. The analyst will work with sales and service teams, as well as the legal department, to structure contracts and analyze them for compliance with company policy, government specifications, and other requirements. This is a full-time, hybrid role requiring the individual to reside in the San Diego, CA area and commute to the office 2-3 days per week, with additional on-site presence as needed. Responsibilities may change due to business needs.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiating/reviewing contracts between Illumina and its customers.
  • Assisting cross-functional teams with contract proposals.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge about Illumina’s sales and contracting processes.
  • Providing education and training to other members of the Contracts team regarding Department processes and procedures.
  • Working with Analysts in other global regions to ensure process continuity and establish best practices.
  • Reviewing/analyzing contracts with other members of the Legal department, building templates, and providing data administration services for legal software tools.
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders (Sales, Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, Revenue Recognition, etc.) to ensure efficient contract processes that meet business needs, company policies, and legal requirements.
  • Representing the Commercial Legal team for company-wide projects affecting the sales contracting process.
  • Organizing, attending, and documenting stakeholder meetings related to the sales contracting process.
  • Identifying gaps in procedures or customer-facing documentation and proposing revisions to templates and implementing streamlined processes as strategic goals shift.
  • Assisting in the selection, design, and implementation of software systems for the Legal group, managing compliance and privacy reporting, and supporting software needs.
  • Supervising and mentoring Contracts Analysts and Senior Analysts, creating performance goals, and conducting reviews (where appropriate).
