Sr. SQL Server Database Administrator
About The Position
This role is for a Sr. SQL Server Database Administrator responsible for managing all aspects of physical database administration. This includes schema management, security, setup, installations, upgrades, patches, backup and recovery, space management, performance tuning, and capacity planning for SQL Server. The administrator will support application teams and their projects, troubleshoot issues, and performance tune applications. The role also involves supporting SQL Server databases in Production, Test, and Development environments, as well as within Microsoft SharePoint farms. Key tasks include installing, upgrading, configuring ALWAYS ON, testing, and deploying complex database software. Developing and implementing database recovery plans, analyzing database performance, and recommending tuning or application changes are also crucial. The administrator will implement user authentication, validate database security protocols, review system designs, develop new database systems as needed, and script batch data loads and operational job automation. Experience with Cohesity Backup Appliance and Cloud Technology is required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college or university
- Seven years of experience in support of an operating system, database management system or a related field.
- Working Knowledge of Cohesity Backup Appliance.
- Working Knowledge of Cloud Technology and governance.
Responsibilities
