About The Position

This role leads department associates by creating and sharing a common vision and direction, understanding the organization’s strategy. The manager communicates and works with managers and associates in other areas while managing and accomplishing the department's and total unit's operational objectives. This role supports and coordinates with managers of all levels to achieve the unit's goals and objectives and those of other parts of the supply chain. The manager ensures the timeliness, quality, and effectiveness of all processes performed within a given area of responsibility. This role directs the team on activities and processes that enable the strategy of Customer First Service, ensuring that merchandise is delivered to customers accurately and on time the first time. The manager plans and manages the programs and activities of the assigned department to ensure the complex/critical processes/procedures of this area are followed accurately and efficiently on a multi-shift basis to achieve department and unit business plans and priorities. This role resolves problems in the assigned department to keep activities on track, referring to appropriate associates for resolution if assistance or specialized expertise is required, and initiating crisis management methods if the situation could cause business disruptions. The manager observes and reviews associate performance, ensuring appropriate execution of procedures and practices, and that all departmental functions are effectively and efficiently performed. This role leads the department by engaging and supporting associates, providing direction, coaching, feedback, and recognition while efficiently and effectively supporting customers. The manager promotes good communication throughout the assigned departments to thoroughly understand processes and procedures. This role builds and maintains good business relationships with external service providers and other industry contacts while managing the assigned department.

Requirements

Management experience in a Supply Chain Logistics environment.
Experience leading and developing a team.
Strong understanding of operational objectives and supply chain strategies.
Ability to ensure timeliness, quality, and effectiveness of processes.
