About The Position

The Sr. Specialist, Electrical Engineer designs and develops electrical systems for integrating electronic equipment on military and commercial aircraft and ground stations. Work includes creating system wiring diagrams with the Capital Harness System and designing circuit breaker panels, control panels, and related items using CAD tools. The role may involve avionics, RF, LAN, data processing, sensor systems, power distribution systems, electrical-load analysis, load-shedding schemes, and testing and integration of systems on aircraft. The engineer may work across a variety of tasks and aircraft systems and platforms, coordinate design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production, and lead and mentor a small team of electrical design engineers. This is an onsite position in Plano, Texas, with a 9/80 schedule: employees work nine days in each 14-day period, totaling 80 hours, and have every other Friday off. The role may require travel or relocation, and requires access to flight lines and aircraft hangar environments; some positions require boarding and exiting aircraft. The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
