About The Position

The Configuration Management (CM) Digital Transformation workstream leader is a key member of the Digital Transformation PLM team, focused on deploying Windchill as the enterprise PLM backbone for the SMS Segment. The role embeds robust configuration management practices into the new Windchill environment and ensures the platform supports program CM, specialty engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain needs. The CM Senior Specialist serves as the primary bridge between traditional program-level CM and the target-state digital thread. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, PLM Solution Architects, and Data Migration Engineers, this position translates L3Harris CM policies and customer requirements into practical Windchill configuration models, workflows, and governance rules. The role helps move the enterprise from document-centric configuration control to an integrated, data-driven configuration backbone that is audit-ready, scalable, and sustainable after implementation. The position is located in Palm Bay, Florida.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related technical field and at least 6 years of relevant experience; or a graduate degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience; or at least 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 6 years of hands-on configuration management experience in an aerospace/defense or similarly regulated engineering environment.
  • Experience managing baselines for complex systems and multi-level product structures.
  • Experience with formal change control, such as ECR/ECN or equivalent processes, deviations, waivers, and CCB participation.
  • Experience supporting configuration audits and regulatory/compliance activities.
  • Direct experience with Windchill or related PTC PLM tools in a CM or product data role.
  • Experience managing WTParts, Documents, product structures, and CAD Documents.
  • Experience executing or supporting Windchill change processes and workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Involvement in enterprise system implementations or major CM/tool transformations, such as PLM, ERP, or digital thread initiatives.
  • Experience developing training content, guidance material, or playbooks that support organizational capability growth.
  • Exposure to digital engineering and model-based practices, including MBSE, simulation baselines, and software configuration, and how they map into a Windchill-centric digital thread.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience diagnosing configuration issues in large, complex product data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate detailed Windchill/CM rules into clear guidance for diverse user groups.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret L3Harris CM policies, program CM plans, and contractual/customer requirements, and translate them into Windchill-based configuration rules, object strategies, workflows, and implementation requirements.
  • Define how as-designed, as-built, and as-maintained product baselines, revisions, options and variants, and serialized configurations will be represented and controlled using Windchill WTParts, Documents, CAD Documents, and Change Objects.
  • Provide CM requirements and use cases for Windchill solution design, configuration, and customization activities.
  • Provide hands-on coaching and support during pilots and early waves of the Windchill rollout, acting as a CM champion and escalation point for CM-related usage questions.
  • Capture deployment lessons learned and contribute them to ongoing refinement of CM processes and Windchill configuration.
