About The Position

The Sr. Solutions Architect is responsible for defining and guiding the end-to-end technology architecture that supports the organization’s strategic and operational goals. This role takes a holistic view across applications, infrastructure, data, integration, and cloud services, ensuring that all technology solutions are scalable, secure, interoperable, and aligned with enterprise standards. The Solutions Architect collaborates closely with business leaders, developers, infrastructure and data teams, and vendors to design and deliver solutions that balance innovation, performance, maintainability, and cost. This position serves as a trusted bridge between business capability needs and the technical solutions that enable them, spanning the full technology stack rather than any single domain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience across technology disciplines, including application development, infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise architecture, with demonstrated breadth across multiple solution domains.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering enterprise-scale solutions that span multiple technology domains, including application, infrastructure, data, and integration required.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript required.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational data architectures required.
  • Strong knowledge of modern solution technologies, including cloud platforms (Azure preferred), microservices and containerization, API design (REST, GraphQL), integration platforms and middleware, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud-native services.
  • Solid understanding of security frameworks, zero-trust principles, and best practices.
  • Demonstrates strategic and systems thinking to design cohesive, future-ready solutions across multiple technology domains.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage at both executive and engineering levels.
  • Ability to balance technical depth with business needs and translate complex architecture into clear value.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, applying a pragmatic approach to architectural tradeoffs.
  • Demonstrates collaborative leadership and influence by driving alignment across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Maintains a continuous learning orientation with active engagement in emerging cloud, AI, and platform technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.), DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and platform engineering preferred.
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or Azure Enterprise Data Analyst (DP-500) preferred.
  • Experience leading modernization initiatives such as cloud migrations, legacy system refactoring, or ERP implementations preferred.
  • Exposure to AI/ML platform integration and designing infrastructure that supports intelligent application capabilities preferred.
  • Experience in industries such as mining, manufacturing, or energy preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise solution architecture, spanning applications, infrastructure, cloud services, data, and integration layers, including standards, patterns, and reference models.
  • Design end-to-end solutions ensuring scalability, performance, interoperability, and resilience across application, infrastructure, data, and cloud platforms.
  • Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and architectural approaches, including cloud-native, AI/ML, and platform solutions, to support enterprise modernization initiatives.
  • Lead architecture reviews and proof-of-concepts to validate solution designs before full-scale implementation.
  • Support and contribute to the health, roadmap, and lifecycle of the enterprise technology portfolio, including custom applications, COTS solutions, cloud platforms, and shared infrastructure services.
  • Ensure all solution and technology decisions are aligned with strategic business objectives, enterprise architecture principles, and long-term technology goals.
  • Provide architectural guidance for refactoring, modernization, and retirement decisions across legacy applications, platforms, and infrastructure, with a focus on reducing technical debt and enabling cloud-first delivery.
  • Maintain a living technology roadmap that communicates the current state, target state, and transition plan for enterprise solutions.
  • Architect integration solutions leveraging APIs, messaging platforms, and ETL/ELT pipelines that connect applications, data platforms, and cloud services seamlessly.
  • Ensure data flows are secure, consistent, and aligned with enterprise data governance standards across all solution domains.
  • Partner with data engineering, analytics, and infrastructure teams to support unified data models, shared services, and AI/ML-ready data architecture.
  • Define integration patterns and standards that enable composable, loosely coupled solution design across the enterprise.
  • Embed security-by-design principles across all solution domains, including application, infrastructure, data, and integration layers.
  • Ensure solution designs align with compliance, regulatory, and cybersecurity requirements throughout the architecture and delivery lifecycle.
  • Define non-functional requirements (NFRs) such as resiliency, availability, monitoring, and observability as core architectural concerns for all solutions.
  • Conduct architecture risk assessments and ensure appropriate controls and mitigation strategies are incorporated into solution designs.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across development, infrastructure, data, and integration teams, promoting architectural standards and engineering best practices.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand capabilities needed, translate requirements into comprehensive architected solutions, and ensure delivered solutions meet functional and non-functional expectations.
  • Establish and govern solution architecture review processes to ensure new initiatives comply with enterprise standards before design and build begin.
  • Serve as a key decision-maker in vendor evaluations, RFPs, and solution selection, ensuring choices align with enterprise architecture strategy.
  • Communicate architectural vision, tradeoffs, and roadmap clearly to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
