About The Position

The Sr. Software Engineering Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for developing and leading software teams building web applications for medical devices. The role provides technical oversight to full-stack developers and establishes development policies and systems that support effective execution while meeting global regulatory requirements. It involves partnering with designers and stakeholders on requirements and design, leading multiple teams on a shared Agile cadence, and managing senior leads and junior engineers, including hiring, performance, and development. The manager makes scope, staffing, and risk decisions amid incomplete information and communicates their implications to non-engineering partners. The position also requires monitoring delivery flow, capacity, dependencies, and blockers; working within design controls for requirements, risk, verification, and traceability; and communicating with engineering, quality, regulatory, and program audiences. The manager may step into day-to-day Software Delivery Manager responsibilities without displacing the product owner, and is accountable for delivering high-quality, timely results. The role supports products used in healthcare and clinical decision-making. Baxter’s flexible workplace policy requires a minimum number of onsite days each week, subject to local law and business needs. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
