About The Position

Evolent is hiring a Sr Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of complex, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. The role focuses on architecting high-performance APIs and microservices, contributing to technical vision and long-term planning, and delivering reliable services for critical business functions. The engineer works with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions, and applies AI-assisted development techniques throughout requirements analysis, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and operational support. The position also involves reviewing code, mentoring junior engineers, improving development processes and CI/CD pipelines, resolving production issues, and evaluating tools and technologies. Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 5 years of professional software development experience, with a track record of delivering complex, scalable applications.
Proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as C#, Java, or Python, and familiarity with their ecosystems.
Deep understanding of software architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven or clean architecture, and RESTful API design.
Experience building and maintaining ASP.NET MVC and WCF applications.
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Expertise in database design and optimization for SQL and NoSQL databases.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues quickly.
Strong communication skills, including leading technical discussions, presenting to stakeholders, and writing detailed documentation.
Experience using AI-assisted development platforms such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools.
Ability to meet the home internet requirement of high-speed internet over 10 Mbps.
Completion of identity verification and a comprehensive background check; in-person I-9 verification and drug screening may also be required.
