About The Position

RRC - Ruiz Recruiting & Consulting is a specialized recruitment firm trusted by startups and enterprise-level companies nationwide. We're working with a leading venture-backed startup pioneering the next generation of AI-driven workflow for enterprise operations. We're in early stages for a Sr. Software Engineer search. This is for a hands-on engineer and technical leader who can ship business-critical capabilities on tight timelines. You'll own the design and delivery of multi-component features, raise the bar on reliability and security, and help scale the team alongside the CTO through code reviews, mentoring, and pragmatic process improvements.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional, non-internship software engineering experience, with a deep, hands-on mastery of Node.js and TypeScript in real-world environments.
• 4+ years architecting and scaling production systems from scratch, with a strong grasp of design patterns, fault tolerance, and high-availability systems.
• A proven track record of shepherding complex projects across the finish line—from initial scoping and milestone mapping to execution and production delivery.
• Hands-on experience keeping production services healthy, including setting up robust observability, leading incident response, and refining on-call readiness.
• Solid experience designing secure applications and implementing SDLC practices that align with enterprise compliance frameworks like SOC 2 Type II.
• Natural adherence to high-quality engineering lifecycles, including strict coding standards, thorough code reviews, automated testing pipelines, and smooth CI/CD processes.

Nice To Haves

• Direct experience building complex, distributed backend systems (e.g., state machines, workflow/orchestration engines, event-driven architectures, or rule engines).
• Frontend proficiency with React, Redux, and modern TypeScript/JavaScript to jump in on UI tools when needed.
• Experience constructing seamless enterprise integrations involving complex auth patterns, webhooks, secure data sync, and immutable audit logs.
• Familiarity with customer service operations, contact-center tech stacks, or complex customer support platform workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate the scalable Node.js/TypeScript backend services that act as the backbone for our workflow automation platform.
• Help mature our engineering culture by modernizing our code review processes to keep delivery fast but flawless.
• Act as a force multiplier for the team by mentoring engineers, reviewing code, and establishing modern CI/CD and testing standards.
• Own the technical execution of major initiatives, breaking down complex product goals into smart, manageable sprints.
• Ensure our systems are robust and fault-tolerant by embedding rate-limiting, idempotency, and multi-tenant isolation into the architecture.
• Help maintain our enterprise-grade security posture by building solutions that meet strict SOC 2 Type II compliance guidelines.
• Keep our platform highly observable and reliable, actively participating in incident response and refining our operational playbooks.
• Work across disciplines with Product, DevOps, and customers to turn user feedback into reliable software.
