  • Strong grasp of object-oriented design, design patterns, and modern software engineering practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with full stack, on-premises software delivery where customers control upgrades.
  • Experience on large, long-lived, complex codebases.
  • Experience writing unit tests and a clear perspective on valuable tests.
  • Familiarity with Git, dependency injection, and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build/release tooling, ideally including GitLab.
  • A track record of mentoring other engineers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Comfort working across time zones on a distributed team.

  • Identify and evaluate new technologies, including AI capabilities, for integration into the product.
  • Work across a large .NET and C# codebase, including desktop client, server components, and database layer.
  • Diagnose and fix complex defects that span component boundaries, including customer-reported production issues.
  • Perform foundational application work such as runtime and framework upgrades, dependency and security remediation, and platform health maintenance.
  • Participate fully in the development lifecycle, from design through release.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers through pairing, code review, and direct feedback.
  • Raise the standard for code reviews by identifying and articulating problems and their reasoning.
  • Serve as a technical expert on projects and lead them when needed, including work breakdown, sequencing, and progress tracking.
  • Contribute to team conventions, patterns, and quality gates.
  • Track and document technical trade-offs and implementation decisions.
  • Communicate proactively about project delays, risks, or potential issues.
  • Use AI coding tools in daily work and help the team adopt them, understanding their benefits and limitations.
