Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field of study, and at least 2 years of software development experience (e.g., Angular, NodeJS, TypeScript, C++, .NET, Java, SQL) OR 6 years of related and applicable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) systems analysis, design, and maintenance.
  • Leads analysis and programming related to systems analysis, design, and integration maintenance.
  • Conducts high-level systems analysis and implementation of high-performing software solutions that are efficient, cost-effective, and support Wellmark’s business and Technology applications.
  • Leads system development and guides the team in design, development, code testing, and debugging necessary to ensure successful completion or resolution of issues, focusing on emerging technologies.
  • Contributes to and drives adoption of best practices (development standards, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, etc.) across various platforms.
  • Leads and supports a diverse development resourcing model including Wellmark staff, global onshore/offshore staffing, and crowdsourcing.
  • Builds relationships with Wellmark leaders and acts as a consultant on business process improvements and technology enhancements or capabilities.
  • Provides high-level analysis and implementation of innovative, efficient, and cost-effective business solutions for multiple platforms, utilizing information technology, business, and industry trends.
  • Guides other engineers in design, development, code testing, debugging, and resolution of issues that utilize emerging technology and meet Wellmark's evolving business needs.
  • Provides advanced support in gathering information, necessary research for root cause analysis, problem definition and formulation, solution implementation, verification, and ongoing optimization.
  • Ensures analysis of defects to find root causes and guides others in identifying potential improvement opportunities.
  • Mentors, guides, and problem-solves with other technology areas in the development and implementation of solutions, including how to use new or enhanced software/applications.
  • Uses data and cost measures (AWS, infrastructure, labor, etc.) to influence timely decisions, build consensus, and take actions to successfully deliver project or production support objectives and support benefits realization.
  • Identifies known issues, impacts to project or production outcomes if not resolved, and escalates as necessary.
  • Participates in project proposals, estimates, and proof-of-concept activities as needed.
  • Maintains awareness of industry best practices and standards and proactively participates in industry/knowledge reference groups relative to the role.
