Sr. Software Engineer II - Catalog
About The Position
The Sr. Software Engineer II - Catalog will build and modernize iHerb's product catalog, a business-critical platform. The role works across backend services, React frontend, and relational data layers. The current backend is .NET/C#, with Go, Python, and Java also used across the organization. The engineer will participate in modernizing the catalog, working on the new stack alongside the existing platform, and will own shipped work through deployment, observability, and on-call incident response. The role uses AI-assisted software development tools as part of daily work, collaborates with product and design, and contributes to code quality, testing, reviews, and shared development standards. It generally requires at least 10 years of software engineering experience. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, or equivalent education and work experience.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience shipping production code with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, with daily use in delivering real software.
- Comfort contributing across multiple layers of the stack.
- Experience owning features end-to-end from specification through deployment, observability, and on-call.
- Strong grasp of software design principles, automated testing, code review, and CI/CD.
- Backend development proficiency in one or more of C#/.NET, Go, Python, or Java; .NET/C# is the current primary stack.
- Proficiency in React or an equivalent modern frontend framework.
- Relational database experience with MS SQL Server or Postgres.
- Proficiency in REST API design and microservice patterns.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask.
- Generally, at least 10 years of software engineering experience.

- Contributions to internal developer tooling, golden path standards, or SDLC process improvements.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms, product catalogs, or high-traffic consumer applications.
- Experience working in globally distributed teams.
- Track record of documenting architectural decisions, writing RFCs, or contributing to engineering wikis.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship catalog features end-to-end, including API design, business logic, data models, and React UI.
- Use AI-driven SDLC tools for daily development, including code generation, spec-to-code translation, and automated test creation.
- Participate in catalog modernization, working on the new stack in parallel with the existing platform.
- Write and maintain automated tests.
- Review pull requests, maintain code standards, and improve the shared golden path.
- Collaborate with product and design to refine specifications before and during implementation.
- Instrument services with logging, metrics, and alerts.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and own incident response for catalog services.
