Sr Software Engineer - Full Stack
About The Position
Custral is a new workspace designed to streamline the entire customer lifecycle, from sales to post-deal implementation, support, and renewal. Unlike traditional CRMs that often require multiple disconnected tools, Custral offers a unified platform where marketing, sales, onboarding, success, and product teams can collaborate using the same customer records. The platform allows teams to customize objects, views, and workflows to match their specific processes. It also integrates AI agents, including an assistant named Stella, that operate directly within the data model for more effective and controlled automation. Custral is currently in its early stages, inviting teams to join gradually.
Requirements
- Deep fluency in TypeScript and years of experience using it across the stack.
- Experience owning core systems in production, not just features.
- Strong skills in React on the front-end and Node.js/Express on the back-end.
- Deep knowledge of Postgres, including data modeling, migrations under load, and query optimization.
- Experience operating systems built on AWS or equivalent.
- Ability to raise the people around you through reviews, patterns, and constructive arguments.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Redis for caching, queues, or real-time applications.
- Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
- Experience with Electron or React Native.
- Experience with SOC 2 or similar compliance work.
- Experience building with AI coding tools.
Responsibilities
- Build the product end to end, and own the decisions the rest of the codebase has to live with.
- Own the shape of core systems: the data model, realtime systems, the AWS footprint, and monorepo performance.
- Set the patterns other engineers follow.
- Contribute to code scanning, dependency hygiene, and audit preparation for SOC 2 compliance.
- Be an early voice on how the company hires and raise the bar for future engineers.
- Scale and performance across the core systems, including the query layer, caching, and record count growth.
- Develop the public API and SDK.
- Build the external developer platform and webhook event catalogue.
- Mentor and guide other engineers through code reviews and architectural discussions.
- Ship real functionality without cutting corners, explain tradeoffs, and improve the system.
Benefits
- Base salary: $170,000 to $210,000
- Equity: 0.6% to 1.25% with a four-year vest and one-year cliff
