Sr. Software Engineer - Amazon FSx, FSx Control Plane
About The Position
The Amazon FSx Control Plane engineering team is looking for creative and talented software engineers to build and operate world-class services using open-source technology. This role involves pushing the boundaries of cloud storage on AWS. Amazon FSx for Control Plane is a service that simplifies launching and running high-performance file systems in the cloud, serving customers in diverse industries like genomics, media & entertainment, machine learning, autonomous vehicles, and financial analysis. As an engineer on this team, you will design, build, and operate the FSx Control Plane using the latest AWS hardware technologies, contributing to the future direction and growth of the service. You will be part of a highly productive team architecting and implementing new features and functionality, revolutionizing high-performance computing and cloud storage. AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations across various services including Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps, with specialized security solutions for cloud services.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
