This role involves researching, designing, developing, and/or testing operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations. The engineer will apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Responsibilities include designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs for enhancements and new products, as well as developing software and tools in support of design, infrastructure, and technology platforms. This includes operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and cloud-based and Internet-related tools. The role may also involve determining hardware compatibility and influencing hardware design. The engineer will work in an area of specialization to develop systems-level software, tackling problems of complex scope that require analyzing a variety of factors. This position requires a strong understanding of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as the practical application of engineering science and technology. The engineer will apply engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD systems and products.
