About The Position

We are looking for a Sr. Software Development Launch Quality Lead to help us elevate our software built-in quality to the next level in the Low Voltage Infrastructure organization! In this role you will be using modern methods, such as behavior driven development (BDD), to collaborate with product owners, developers, systems and tools team to create and execute software behavior tests for the next generation of GM embedded controllers in the low voltage space.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Software, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering/technical experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded software development and/or test experience.
  • Experience reading and debugging source code in embedded C language.
  • Developer-level competencies in the same.
  • Experience with Trace 32.
  • Experience with JIRA, GIT, Rhapsody, Optimus and Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Software-in-the-loop / controller virtualization test environment experience.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Software, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a geographically dispersed organization.
  • Working knowledge of the software development process.
  • Test automation (e.g., Jenkins), regression testing, and test procedure creation.
  • Knowledge of Low Voltage Infrastructure, Li and PB batteries, power distribution devices and dependencies.
  • Hardware-in-the-loop test environment experience, including dSPACE ControlDesk.
  • CppUTest environment experience.
  • Communication protocol and tool experience (Automotive Ethernet, CAN, LIN, diagnostics. ETAS INCA, Intrepid NeoVI/VSpy/Comet/Galaxy, Vector CANoe/CANape tools).

Responsibilities

  • Act as lead in responding to Tested Functionality Rollout Plan (TFRP) and CI/CD failures, assess root cause, initiate and test remedial fixes, test script updates or route the issue where necessary and support the primary developer to make more complex changes.
  • Develop very good understanding of low voltage systems, software and test environments to support software quality.
  • Contribute to the team knowledge base, so common software errors, corner case situations and other learnings can be retained and shared.
  • Frequently collaborate with software solution teams, low voltage systems team, virtual model development team and other cross-functional teams in the resolution of TFRP failures.
  • Develop and implement algorithms for various low voltage related features using C code.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans for the team and lead test case development to assess software products at the solution level.
  • Understand functional, safety, and compliance requirements, implementing appropriate test plans and setups.
  • Responsible for writing test scripts using Python based on the test case scenarios.
  • Execute test plans on a variety of test environments such as hardware and software in-the loop simulators, and vehicles.
  • Identify software anomalies, missed requirements and performance issues early in the development process.
  • Provide, communicate, and support common best practices among software community
  • Infrequent travel as required.
