About The Position

Americo is looking for a Sr. Software Architect to shape the technical direction of our software. In this role, you'll work with business leaders, IT leadership, and development teams to turn strategic goals into sound, scalable system designs. You'll evaluate design alternatives against real-world constraints such as cost, schedule, usability, reliability, maintainability, and availability. Then you'll recommend the best path forward. Your decisions will set the core properties of our systems, so you'll need good judgment about trade-offs and the ability to bring others along with your thinking. Reporting to the Director of Software Development, you'll also help our developers follow best practices and keep their work aligned with architecture standards.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and developing applications with the .NET Framework and .NET Core
  • Experience with Agile software development processes
  • Experience with Azure DevOps for application lifecycle management and source control
  • Knowledge of relational databases, preferably SQL Server
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in software development/architecture

Responsibilities

  • Partner with company leaders to understand strategic business direction and anticipate future technology needs.
  • Provide technical guidance on system design, implementation, and integration engineering.
  • Build proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate and validate new technologies.
  • Research emerging tools and technologies and assess their value to software development at Americo.
  • Document system designs, interfaces, and implementation so that stakeholders understand them and support the proposed solutions.
  • Work with IT leadership to consider how architectural decisions affect the entire technology portfolio.
