The Sr Site Reliability Engineer, Release will prototype, write, maintain, and test code in multiple stages of the release process and in multiple environments in order to rapidly deliver automated solutions to our application releases. Assesses unusual circumstances and uses sophisticated analytical and problem solving techniques to identify causes.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years scripting experience in one or more common scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.) PowerShell experience is strongly preferred
  • 4+ years experience in server administration and configuration or application / infrastructure deployment
  • Advanced experience in creating build jobs, release pipelines, or operational automation in industry-standard toolchains (TeamCity, GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, or other tools operating in these spaces)
  • Effective troubleshooting skills
  • Experience using automation tools. Build, provision, deploy, test and monitor
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally
  • Work independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation

Nice To Haves

  • Basic proficiency in one or more database technologies and query languages (MSSQL, Postgres, and Redis preferred)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with GitLab

Responsibilities

  • Code, test, document, and deploy your work into multiple environments, including production
  • Work with senior team members to understand stakeholder requirements and identify potential technologies to best solve business problems
  • Consider performance, scalability, and reliability in all decision making
  • Work with senior team members to learn new technologies, services, and best practices
  • Collaborate with software and systems engineers, product teams, and application support to improve software delivery, configuration, monitoring, and operations
  • Participate in on-call duty rotation
  • Other duties as assigned
