This role involves supporting engineering projects by developing software solutions, conducting tests and inspections, and preparing reports and calculations. The developer is expected to supervise associate engineers on occasion, understand system protocols, how systems operate, and data flows, and be aware of current technology benefits. The role requires the independent development of a full software stack, understanding building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools for software and automation work. It also involves independent study of current technology, presenting project improvement scenarios to management, monitoring and influencing relevant industry technologies and standards, and presenting highly technical concepts to both technical and non-technical decision-makers. Continuous learning, content creation, and teaching others specific subject areas are key. The role includes informally coaching and contributing to the development of others through mentoring or in-house workshops and learning sessions, and developing engineers across functional teams on technology decisions. The developer will also develop, design, and implement new ideas utilizing new frameworks to improve existing or new systems/processes/services, and conduct investigative independent study and problem-solving for non-routine tasks.
