This unique role blends HVAC and Controls knowledge, requiring the technician to start and commission new systems, diagnose, and repair environmental-control systems. The position demands expertise in electronics, direct digital control, airflow, refrigeration theory, and control and mechanical techniques within diverse commercial settings. The Sr. Service Controls Technician acts as the direct customer contact, responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction through identification, diagnosis, and repair at customer locations. Key responsibilities include coordinating with team leaders and customers to understand installation and repair requirements, forecasting issues, gathering materials, and synchronizing on-site work. The technician must stay current on Trane products related to installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems, while also upholding the highest safety standards and maintaining accountability for company assets. Flexibility to work overtime, including occasional overnight stays, is also required.
