Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related technical field; MBA preferred
  • 8-10 years of experience within the Storage industry, with at least 5 years in a marketing role
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful segment and customer-level strategies
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, including product transitions and End-of-Life (EOL) processes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with C-level executives and technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions
  • Experience in pricing strategy development and execution
  • Proficiency in creating and managing long-range plans, forecasts, and business cases
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • In-depth knowledge of storage technologies and solutions, including emerging trends
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence without direct authority
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) tools and data analysis software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in Project Management (PMP) or Product Marketing (PMM) are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop segment and customer-level strategies
  • Customer Strategy – Work with Account Team to layout long-term strategy for key accounts.
  • Long-Range Planning – Support BLM and PLM to create Long-Range Plan (LRP), Rolling 8 Quarter forecast (R8Q), Rolling 2 Quarter forecast (R2Q) and Product Business Cases.
  • Product Transition Strategy – In conjunction with Account team define and drive the product level qualification, End-of-Life (EOL) and Product transition plan
  • Pricing Strategy – In conjunction with Account Team and Business Management & Planning (BMP), develop long-term customer pricing strategy to maximize revenue, profit and share
  • Serve as the main Devices BU point of contact for the customer
  • Be customer escalation point for all BU functions: BMP, Business Planning & Pricing (BPP), Business Operations, Outbound Marketing, PM, AE
  • Work with BMP on Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to ensure the share, revenue and profit correspond to our long-term product investments.
  • Work with AE and Technical Account Team to make sure qualification plan is aligned with PM and customer.
  • Work with Technical Account Team and Warranty Team on any field failure excursions focusing on business/segment impact & future product implications
  • Work with PM to create future product definition alignment with the customer
  • Main point of contact for all Quarterly meetings with customer (e.g. QBR/SBR, QTR, QPP, Forecast Meetings, Roadmap Meetings and Product Deep Dives)
  • Accountable for all content presented for the quarterly meetings.
  • Manage Customer Messaging from BU
  • Interface with customer to promote WDC products / solutions into customer's target applications & get design win for new products
  • Stay up-to-date on market and industry trends and leading practices, formulate plans to address
  • Process competitive intelligence for key competitors in the segment and within key accounts & provide insight to PM for creation of competitive roadmap
  • Meet with customer architect, product, program and procurement teams, as appropriate, to gather longer-term solution, product, application and qualification requirements / decision criteria
  • Interlock with Account Team to drive Account Strategy
  • Layout key design wins and plan to align with our roadmap
  • Work with sales and customer to create strategy to remove holes in our roadmap to cover all needs
  • Create sales enablement materials & conduct training as needed
