Position Overview The Sr. Scientist applies advanced HPLC‑MS techniques to analyze complex chemical samples and support product development and customer-driven projects. This role emphasizes method development, structural elucidation, and quantification of trace compounds in diverse matrices. The position operates independently while collaborating with technical teams to drive data‑informed decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s (with 5+ years experience), Master’s (with 3+ years experience), or PhD in Chemistry or related field
  • Industry experience using HPLC‑MS systems (QTOF or QQQ)
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex mass spectra and identify compounds
  • Experience developing analytical methods and solving technical problems
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Agilent instrumentation and MassHunter software
  • Background in chemical, polymer, or materials analysis
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and maintain analytical equipment
  • Experience analyzing trace compounds in complex or multi-component samples

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hands-on analysis using HPLC‑QTOF and HPLC‑QQQ instrumentation
  • Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for complex samples
  • Interpret mass spectra beyond library searches to identify unknown compounds
  • Perform structural elucidation and quantify trace analytes in varied extracts
  • Prepare samples, standards, and reagents for analysis
  • Troubleshoot instruments and perform routine maintenance
  • Maintain documentation and adhere to laboratory SOPs and quality standards
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations to project stakeholders
