The Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) group is dedicated to enabling the discovery, development and commercialization of safe and effective medicines by elucidating the absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and pharmacokinetic properties of small molecule drug candidates. We accomplish this through the application of state-of-the-art technologies and sciences of bioanalysis, drug metabolism, drug transport and pharmacokinetics. The DMPK group works in close partnership with disciplines such as medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacology and regulatory to optimize leads, select clinical candidates, conduct preclinical development studies, support clinical evaluation and contribute to IND and NDA filings. The DMPK department at Genentech is seeking a Ph.D. level Senior Scientist who is highly motivated to apply cutting edge translational modeling approaches to support the advancement of small molecule drug discovery and development projects. Physiologically-based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling will be a key focus of this position. Key technical responsibilities are to strategize, plan, execute, and report PBPK modeling and simulations independently, as well as to present work at cross-functional teams, department meetings, senior management review committees, regulatory interactions, and scientific conferences. Other responsibilities may also include representing DMPK at multi-functional discovery and development project teams and leading the DMPK strategy, including designing, executing and reporting non-clinical studies.
