About The Position

Working as part of a diverse cross-functional team, you will be leading RDQ activities required to drive the RITZ growth strategy. The candidate will be responsible for the Product Development in RITZ North America. This role includes a mix of maintenance projects within the RITZ as well as supporting the team with the innovation pipeline. The candidate may own productivity, ingredient substitutions, quality improvement, consumer complaint reduction, and line extensions for the brand. The candidate will represent R&D interacting with marketing, operations, and quality leads to develop, coordinate, and commercialize brand projects/programs. They will be a key intersect between R&D with the commercial team, the wider cross-functional team, and our consumers & customers.

Requirements

BS in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the food industry.
Strong technical foundation and technical curiosity.
Able to develop and drive technical projects with proper scientific rigor: conduct appropriate testing, gather, and analyze data, and develop recommendations based on findings & business contexts.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and manage complexity.
Excellent written and oral communication skills (English required, Spanish a plus); able to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of the commercialization process (how to take products from idea to market) and how to execute these processes with the right-fit agility.
Think end to end to proactively assess risks and develop right-fit mitigation plans based on the probability and impact.
Versatile, able to work in cross-functional teams, and be capable of working proactively across multiple projects.
Knowledge of biscuit formulation/processes is a strong plus.
Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead RDQ activities required to drive the RITZ growth strategy.
Responsible for Product Development in RITZ North America.
Manage maintenance projects within RITZ.
Support the team with the innovation pipeline.
Own productivity, ingredient substitutions, quality improvement, consumer complaint reduction, and line extensions for the brand.
Represent R&D interacting with marketing, operations, and quality leads to develop, coordinate, and commercialize brand projects/programs.
Act as a key intersect between R&D with the commercial team, the wider cross-functional team, and consumers & customers.
Support cross-functional team to identify opportunities for the brand based on business priorities and consumer needs.
Work with a cross-functional team to plan and execute a robust approach to fulfilling identified needs.
Provide technical input to project teams and act as a linkage back to the internal / external technical community.
Design experiments, analyze results, and translate them into actionable recommendations with minimal guidance and support.
Understand the functional characteristics of product ingredients, formulations, and process, including how they impact finished products to meet consumer expectations.
Manage a wide-agenda of varying priorities with strong time-management and organization.
Leverage experts/partners to ensure compliance with documentation, shelf life, regulatory requirements, and confidentiality requirements.
Participate in cross functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
Write process specifications that deliver consistent, high-quality products across numerous manufacturing facilities.
