About The Position

The Sr. Sales Trainee will learn and master all aspects of Bachoco USA’s commercial and sales operations. This Sr. Trainee will gain hands-on experience across multiple sales channels, including National Accounts, Retail, Foodservice, and Commodity Sales, within a vertically integrated poultry organization. The Sr. Sales Trainee will not only develop a strong foundation in the poultry and protein marketplace, but also build the commercial, analytical, and relationship management skills necessary for a long-term career in sales leadership. The program is designed to challenge participants through real-world assignments, cross-functional exposure, and measurable performance milestones, ultimately preparing them to transition into a Sales Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Business, Agriculture, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field and 1 year experience in sales, account management, or poultry experience is required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as pricing, margins, commissions, percentages, and volume forecasts.
  • Ability to analyze sales data, trends, and financial metrics.
  • Strong proficiency in interpreting graphs, reports, and dashboards.
  • Ability to solve practical business problems and deal with a variety of variables in dynamic environments.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and translate them into actionable sales strategies.
  • Knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software; Word Processing software.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical thinking and ability to structure work in a logical flow.
  • Key attributes include self-motivated, results-driven, detail-oriented, and strong communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a strong desire to grow into a Sales Account Manager role.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Rotates through structured training sessions across key channels, including: National Accounts, Retail, Foodservice, Wholesale
  • Gains hands-on experience supporting sales operations and account management activities.
  • Performs on-the-job tasks including customer analysis, pricing support, forecasting, and order management.
  • Completes assignments and coordinates daily activities with sales leaders and account managers.
  • Develops an understanding of company products, pricing strategies, and customer requirements.
  • Participates in customer meetings, business reviews, and sales presentations.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, finance, and production teams.
  • Learns and applies principles of margin management, supply planning, and demand forecasting.
  • Understands industry trends, poultry market dynamics, and competitive positioning.
  • Follows all company directives, policies, and performance expectations set forth by leadership.
  • Develops and demonstrates sales and leadership competencies.
  • Gains a working knowledge of fully integrated poultry operations and commercial strategy.
