About The Position

This position is responsible for leading the PIDSA EMD North America sales, and distribution functions for assigned products in alignment with the goals and strategies of the PIDSA EMD management, the EMBD business units, EMBD global sales and marketing, and Panasonic Industrial Company. The role involves managing the North America sales and distribution team to increase sales and profitability for EMD products in North America while managing legal and financial risk appropriately. It requires direct communication with assigned US OEM companies to align complex supply chains, representing Panasonic positions in management-level negotiations, and focusing on customer-based outcomes. Close communication with factory management to optimize operations and product availability, and negotiation with internal business units and channel partner management teams are also key responsibilities. The role is responsible for achieving financial results and performance metrics, and creating and executing annual operational plans to achieve forecasts and profitability objectives. Operating effectively in a complex organization, gaining support from business unit leaders and stakeholders, and collaborating effectively with management, peers, marketing, and colleagues are essential. The position also assists R&D and Marketing with product management and the strategic introduction of new products. Furthermore, it involves creating and implementing strategic plans for North American channel strategy, incorporating North America supply chain demands into corporate planning, and participating in strategic planning for EMBD business units. Providing market information and representing Panasonic externally through industry events and organizations are also part of the role. Corporate manager responsibilities include ensuring compliance with company policies and laws, managing financial responsibilities (travel expenses, capital expenditures, salaries) within budget, and generating accurate and timely reports. Functional competence with required processes, systems, and software is necessary, as is representing Panasonic values professionally.

Requirements

  • Manage North America Sales in alignment with the goals and strategies of the US R&M group, the EMBD business units, EMBD management and Panasonic Industrial Company.
  • For assigned OEMs, manage end-to-end supply chain from OEM through their manufacturing partners through to Panasonic channel partners.
  • Manage Business Unit distributors and other external business partners involved in North American sales activities.
  • Represent PIDA-EMD, business unit and PID positions in management level negotiations with Panasonic channel partners and OEMs.
  • Create and execute strategic and operational plans.
  • Be accountable for results.
  • Manage expenses within your assigned budget.
  • Provides timely and accurate reporting and communication.
  • Collaborates with business unit leadership, other functional group managers, business unit managers and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compliance with company policies and appropriate government laws.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years in sales, marketing, business development, or related roles - can be concurrent with experience above.
  • A demonstrated understanding and ability to navigate the global supply chain complexities in the electronic materials industry.
  • English Fluency.
  • US Citizenship (required for working with many aerospace OEM customers)
  • Basic business computer operation functionality. (MS Office, email, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Computer, smartphone, and other device skills required to accomplish the job.
  • Ability to learn and operate company devices, systems, software, etc.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, including a valid passport, clear driving record and credit score. Travel is approximately 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the North America sales and distribution team to increase sales and profitability for EMD products in North America while managing legal and financial risk appropriately.

  • Create and implement strategic plans for North American channel strategy that aligns and supports regional and global business objectives.
  • Incorporate North America supply chain demands into corporate planning process to ensure stability of supply for US entities and mitigate risk to Panasonic.
  • Participate and provide input into the strategic planning process for appropriate EMBD business units.
  • Provide information on customers, markets, technology development, business conditions, etc. using the appropriate reporting format and/or system.
  • Represent Panasonic and develop external professional network through industry events, industry organizations, consortiums, customer meetings, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and government laws.
  • Ensure requisite training is completed on time for you and your team.
  • Exercise financial responsibility in areas like travel expenses, capital expenditures, salaries, etc. Manage to your budget and provide reporting as required.
  • Comply with corporate and business unit fiscal adjustments as needed.
  • Generate accurate and timely reports (forecasts, business reports, sales reports, budgets, etc.) as required by management.
  • Use and be functionally competent with required, processes, systems, software, etc.
  • Represent Panasonic values in a professional and competent manner internally and when working with customers, partners, conferences, and other external interactions.
