About The Position

This position combines advanced data analysis, business intelligence, and system expertise to improve information quality, streamline workflows, and deliver actionable insights that drive operational and strategic decisions. The Senior Analyst supports data accuracy, governance, and analytical reporting across the organization’s Risk Management Information System (RMIS) and related analytical tools. The role works closely with leadership, ensuring that all reporting and data used for business decisions is consistent, meaningful, and trusted.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Risk, Insurance, Finance, or a related analytical field.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for querying, validation, and data integration.
  • Proficient in Python or R for data preparation, automation, and analytics.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Domo or Cognos.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Effective oral, written, and presentation skills for communicating analytical results.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Data Analytics, Statistics, Finance, or related field).
  • Experience in financial and actuarial analysis preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce/CRM platforms preferred.
  • Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Data Factory, Alteryx) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data modeling (e.g., dbt) and data governance practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using RMIS, Reporting Tools and Excel.
  • Create recurring and ad hoc reports for senior leadership, including KPIs, financial tie-outs, and trend summaries.
  • Develop and maintain datasets and analytical scripts to improve data preparation efficiency.
  • Build PowerPoint presentations that summarize findings and key business insights in a clear, professional format.
  • Provide accurate and timely analysis that supports operational and strategic decisions.
  • Assist with financial reconciliation between RMIS data, claim payments, and financial reports to ensure alignment across systems.
  • Provide analytical and validation support during reconciliation cycles and audits.
  • Ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy across all datasets and reports.
  • Maintain data definitions, field logic, and calculation rules within RMIS.
  • Conduct regular validation cycles, reconciliations, and data audits to support reporting reliability.
  • Serve as data steward, ensuring governance and transparency of metrics used across teams.
  • Serve as a key RMIS administrator, maintaining user hierarchy, permissions, and reporting logic.
  • Configure and update calculated metrics, forms, and layouts based on business requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT and vendors only as needed for technical troubleshooting or enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring workflows and reduce manual data handling.
  • Work closely with Risk, Finance, and Operations leaders to align reporting outputs with business priorities.
  • Translate complex data into insights that non-technical audiences can easily understand.
  • Support training and documentation for system users and internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Claims Team to validate financial data, including reserves, payments, and transaction accuracy across RMIS and accounting systems.
  • Review and reconcile claim financials regularly to ensure alignment between RMIS, vendor data, and internal financial reports.
  • Coordinate with RMIS vendors on system mapping, financial field logic, and improvements that enhance accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Support reporting and documentation requirements for state regulatory agencies related to self-insurance programs, audits, and compliance filings.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reconciliation cycles by providing analytical reviews, variance explanations, and validation support.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to dashboards, processes, and analytical logic.
  • Stay current with Reporting Tools like (Tableau/Power BI/Domo/Cognos Etc), SQL, and Python practices relevant to reporting automation and performance analysis.
  • Assist leadership in developing a consistent reporting structure across multiple risk domains.
  • Exercise independent judgment in report design, data validation, and analysis.
  • Recommend improvements to processes and reporting to enhance data-driven decision-making.
  • Prioritize analytics requests based on urgency, business value, and impact.
