About The Position

INEOS Energy Petroleum USA Inc. (the US Gulf) is seeking a reservoir engineering technical specialist to provide and execute the reservoir engineering interpretations, work plans and models used in the subsurface analysis of their assets. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of reservoir engineering experience in deepwater Gulf of America. The candidate must have demonstrated reservoir engineering experience supporting deepwater field development, infill drilling evaluation, production performance management, reserves assessment and economic analysis. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering or Reservoir Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years’ deepwater Gulf of America experience in the oil and gas industry, both in operated and non-operated assets.
  • Thoroughly proficient in all reservoir engineering analytical and simulation tools and methods, such as well test analysis, wellbore, network and reservoir modelling, reservoir simulations, PVT analysis, production forecasting and reserves evaluation.
  • Ability to write technical reports and correspondence and to effectively present information
  • Proven project management skills, with a solid track record of developing pragmatic, technically sound, and commercially relevant recommendations.
  • Able to structure work around deadlines, compliance requirements, project milestones
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, problem-solving individual
  • Strong collaborator able to build trust with operators, partners, operations, asset teams, and technical specialists.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially in high-stakes environments involving executive leadership and joint venture partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide reservoir engineering support across producing assets, developments, and new projects, including reservoir surveillance, pressure transient analysis (PTA), reservoir simulation, history matching, production optimization, forecasting, and reserves evaluation.
  • Design and support reservoir evaluation programs for exploration and appraisal activities, including log, fluid, and core analysis.
  • Develop and maintain reservoir simulation models, generate probabilistic production forecasts and reserve estimates, and provide modeling inputs to reserves reporting, AOPs, strategic planning, and economic evaluations.
  • Monitor well, reservoir and asset performance, analyze production and injection trends, identify root causes of variances, and recommend actions to improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with geoscience, production engineering, drilling, commercial, regulatory, and partner teams to align technical evaluations with business objectives and development plans.
  • Support technical assurance, portfolio management, and decision-making by assessing performance against forecasts and reserves, documenting changes, and evaluating development opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with operators and partners, serving as a key technical advisor and providing experience-based recommendations to enhance asset value.
  • Prepare clear technical reports and presentations, promote high-quality data and efficient workflows, and identify process improvements and innovative strategies to maximize reservoir performance and value.
