About The Position

VIAVI is a global provider of network test, monitoring and assurance solutions and light management technologies. The Sr. Regulatory Compliance Engineer contributes to the Product Compliance Team by monitoring product legislation, regulations and standards; leading compliance projects; and helping maintain resources and guidance for product regulatory requirements. The role supports product validation, regulatory registration and reporting, design-change reviews, supply-chain and sales-channel audits, compliance evidence maintenance, and responses to customer compliance inquiries.

Requirements

Degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
Solid understanding of regulatory compliance trends and methods for achieving and proving compliance.
Strong operational and project management skills.
Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Monitor developments in product legislation, regulations and standards and determine their implications for VIAVI and required compliance actions.
Lead compliance projects as required.
Help maintain knowledge and guidance resources for product regulatory requirements, including safety, EMC, radio and laser requirements, and tools and templates for R&D teams.
Help validate products by conducting pre-compliance and mechanical/climactic tests.
Coordinate product testing through external laboratories.
Register products and report to regulatory authorities as needed.
Review and confirm compliance of new products and subsequent design changes.
Audit and maintain compliance of supply chains and sales channels.
Maintain component- and product-level proof of compliance.
Assist internal and external customers with compliance questions and requests for information or documentation.
