About The Position

Securian Financial is seeking a Senior Regulatory Compliance Analyst to support and enhance regulatory change management across our life insurance and annuity businesses. This role plays a key part in ensuring the organization effectively identifies, assesses, and implements regulatory changes while maintaining strong governance, documentation, and controls. We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in a life insurance or annuity environment who understands how regulatory requirements translate into real business processes. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across functions, can navigate complex regulatory topics, and helps drive practical, risk-aware solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance within a life insurance, annuity, or related financial services environment.
  • Experience supporting regulatory change management activities, including tracking changes, assessing impact, and working with business partners on implementation.
  • Understanding of insurance regulatory frameworks and how they impact operations, products, or distribution.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into clear, actionable business guidance.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting policies, procedures, or formal documentation.
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively across teams in a collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting regulatory exams, data calls, or market conduct activities.
  • Familiarity with compliance monitoring, testing, or control frameworks.
  • Experience with regulatory tracking tools, workflows, or governance forums.
  • Broader knowledge of life insurance and annuity operations (e.g., product, administration, claims, distribution).

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Change Management Monitor, track, and triage regulatory and statutory developments impacting life insurance and annuity products and operations.
  • Support the end-to-end regulatory change process, including intake, impact assessment, decisioning, implementation, and closure.
  • Maintain a clear and organized view of regulatory changes, including status tracking and reporting.
  • Impact Assessment & Business Partnership Partner with business areas (e.g., Operations, Product, Legal, Risk Management) to evaluate applicability and operational impact of regulatory changes.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into actionable business impacts, requirements, and next steps.
  • Document outcomes, decisions, and supporting rationale in a clear and auditable manner.
  • Implementation Support & Coordination Assist in planning and coordinating implementation of regulatory changes, including procedure updates, business requirements, and training considerations.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure changes are implemented effectively and aligned with regulatory expectations.
  • Help track progress, risks, and dependencies across implementation efforts.
  • Policy, Procedures & Documentation Draft and update compliance policies, standards, and procedures to reflect regulatory changes and evolving business practices.
  • Ensure documentation is clear, consistent, and aligned with compliance program expectations.
  • Monitoring & Controls Contribute to the design and enhancement of monitoring approaches and control frameworks related to regulatory change.
  • Partner with business and compliance teams to define evidence, testing considerations, and ongoing oversight practices.
  • Issue Identification & Resolution Research and investigate potential compliance issues or gaps.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support remediation efforts, document corrective actions, and strengthen controls to prevent recurrence.
  • Project & Workstream Support Manage or support project workstreams, including tracking timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
  • Contribute to status updates and materials for leadership and governance forums.
