About The Position

The Sr. Regional Manager of Recreation and Programs is a key member of the Operations Department, responsible for overseeing recreation and program initiatives across multiple community centers within an assigned region. This position carries broader strategic responsibility, with a focus on managing complex partnerships and implementing critical projects. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Recreation and Programs, this role sets strategic goals, ensures annual program outcomes and outputs are met, and maintains compliance with all applicable laws governing youth, adult, and senior programming. The Sr. Regional Manager fosters a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation to deliver high-quality services to the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Health, Social Work, Communication, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in a management or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in managing, developing, and retaining team members.
  • Experience in budget management and grant compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience with grant writing and reporting.
  • Familiarity with community engagement strategies and event planning.
  • Experience in large-scale operations management is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Community Center Managers within their scope of work.
  • Develop and implement strategic operational plans for short-term and long-term goals within assigned areas.
  • Recruit, engage, and secure partnerships that enhance the direct services, primarily at the Alief Community Center.
  • Work with Community Center staff and leadership to set program performance measures.
  • Maintain and report meticulous data to demonstrate program performance and evaluate progress.
  • Oversee regional operational budgets and monitor expenditures for fiscal responsibility.
  • Provide coaching, technical expertise, and guidance to staff; address escalated issues effectively.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on departmental programs, projects, services, and initiatives.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with external partners to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Review and update operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Perform personnel functions, including recruitment, training, development, and performance evaluations.
  • Lead and motivate staff to achieve organizational objectives and maintain a positive work culture.
  • Lead in planning large-scale events with the support of Community Center staff.
  • Serve as a backup to the Senior Director as needed.
  • Serve as a backup to Community Center Managers when necessary to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Drive project implementation for strategic initiatives, maintaining alignment with organizational goals and operational priorities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
