This position is for a Specific Temporary Sr Radiation Protection Tech. Duties include performing or directing the daily activities of Radiation Protection Technicians, attending meetings and training, participating in lessons learned and root cause discussions, and providing leadership, initiative, judgment, ingenuity, and experience to ensure the implementation of the Radiation Protection program. The role involves organizing, planning, scheduling, leading, and directing work activities, assisting Radiation Protection Foremen, and aiding in training programs, including on-the-job training for Radiation Protection Technicians. The position also requires participation in observation programs, researching and resolving problems, suggesting modifications to alleviate station challenges, and providing overall radiological expertise to maintain safety, dependability, and equipment reliability. Additionally, the role involves evaluating work schedules for appropriate manpower and equipment, assigning qualified personnel, reviewing and approving survey maps and air samples, writing procedures, performing W.O. screening, providing radiological input to work plans, assisting the ALARA Specialist, locating radiological information for RWPs, and performing duties of various RP Tech roles as assigned. Heat stress monitoring and assisting other work groups are also part of the responsibilities. The role also encompasses performing all duties of a Junior Radiation Protection Technician and conducting training for which they are qualified.
