Requirements

  • Associates degree required or equivalent in experience
  • Proficient in MS Office programs
  • 3 - 5 years QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Welding knowledge required
  • VT Certification (visual inspection) and/or BT (bubble leak) and RT Level 2 (radiograph inspection) required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills – A3 certification
  • Basic math skills to calibrate and measure specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting output samples using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions, and examining functionality
  • Ensure the manufacturing adheres to quality standards and procedures and complies with quality requirements
  • Reviews blueprints and BOM specifications to compare to manufactured products
  • Records inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and entering data into quality database
  • Training production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence
  • Proposing improvements to the production process
  • Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training
  • Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and obtaining required repairs
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and radiographs
  • Using gauges such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensional measurements of product
  • Test functional performance of system and sub-assemblies
  • Examines weld joints to detect flaws, such as cracks, cold weld, spatter and undercuts
  • Collects and compiles statistical quality data
  • Assists in developing test methods and inspection plans
  • Determines causes of product defects and reworks
  • Verifies equipment is calibrated correctly
  • Collaborates with engineering, production and other departments to resolve problems
  • Label equipment with tags and serial numbers
  • Maintains VT and BT for staff
  • Provides RT approval for radiograph inspections
