About The Position

This role is for a Sr Quality Engineer responsible for establishing, implementing, and documenting Quality Management System (QMS) processes aligned with API Q1 and ISO 9001 requirements. The position involves performing gap assessments, leading remediation efforts for certification readiness, and developing necessary documentation for external audits. The role also supports internal audits and management reviews. Key responsibilities include defining and standardizing manufacturing quality processes, supporting quality continuity during plant relocation and startup, and applying risk-based quality tools. Additionally, the role involves establishing supplier quality processes, defining and implementing quality KPIs, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deploy quality processes and train employees. The contract role requires regular travel between Claremore, OK and Lufkin, TX to support plant relocation, process alignment, and quality system deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Reliability, or related field).
  • Demonstrated experience implementing API Q1 and ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing quality and supplier quality in industrial or energy-related environments.
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools (CAPA, FMEA, root cause analysis, audits).
  • Proven ability to deliver results in a short term, project-based contract role.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, and document QMS processes aligned with API Q1 and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Perform gap assessments and lead remediation efforts to achieve certification readiness.
  • Develop procedures, work instructions, records, and controls required for external audits.
  • Support internal audits, management reviews, and certification preparation activities.
  • Define and standardize manufacturing quality processes at the receiving facility, including inspection, control plans, nonconformance management, and corrective action (CAPA).
  • Support quality continuity and risk mitigation during plant relocation and startup.
  • Apply risk-based quality tools (e.g., FMEA, root cause analysis) to improve product and process reliability.
  • Establish supplier quality processes including supplier qualification, audits, corrective actions, and performance monitoring.
  • Align supplier quality requirements with API Q1 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Implement supplier quality metrics to support risk management and continuous improvement.
  • Define and implement key quality and reliability KPIs.
  • Create reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into quality performance and trends.
  • Enable data driven decisions and continuous improvement practices.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to deploy quality processes.
  • Train and coach employees on new quality procedures to ensure adoption and sustainability.
  • Transition ownership of processes to permanent staff at the conclusion of the contract.
