About The Position

Moog is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to plan and execute cost-effective quality processes to ensure contractual quality requirements are met and to provide the required level of protection to Moog and its Customers. This role will have a significant impact on business performance by promoting the highest standards of quality, particularly for complex hardware. The Senior Quality Engineer will report to a Project Quality Engineer and work onsite in East Aurora, NY (Buffalo area). Moog Space and Defense provides critical hardware for leading space and defense platforms. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent STEM and 5 years of professional work experience in engineering, manufacturing or quality OR Associate’s Degree with 9 years of professional work experience in engineering, manufacturing or quality OR High School Diploma with 13 years of progressive and relevant work experience in engineering, manufacturing or quality
  • Proficiency with statistical, spreadsheet, and database software packages
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for quality success on program teams in meeting contractual requirements and driving crucial quality related decisions for our customers.
  • Lead Moog support of Customer & Government (DCMA) inspections, customer audits and requirements.
  • Improve production by conducting QE studies, recommending design changes, and providing quality support to manufacturing personnel.
  • Facilitate cross functional teams through problem solving activities, including failure analysis, root cause and corrective action analysis, risk mitigation, material review, customer & governmental interface, audit support configuration control, and traceability.
  • Teach Quality personnel on the process of reviewing and preparing End Item Data packs to provide to customer during either source inspections or shipment of hardware.
  • Develop Quality plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing operations, assembly & test processes, and final inspection.
  • Work directly with customers and suppliers to identify root cause and corrective action.
  • Improve cost for inspection and prevent cost due to failure through statistical analysis and problem solving.
